Who owns the MEGABrands.COM web site?

The website is owned by MEGA Brands Inc. (“MEGA Brands”) and is operated by MEGA Brands Inc. and/or its affiliated companies (MEGA Brands Inc. and its affiliated companies are collectively referred to as the “MEGA Family”). The companies that are part of the MEGA Family are the owners of the MEGA Brands, ROSEART® and MAGNEXT trademarks and manufacturers of the MEGA Brands toys, activity and stationery items.

Please note that our Privacy Policy applies only to the web sites operated by the MEGA Family and not to other web sites operated by other companies or organizations to which we may link, as we do not control the activities of those sites.

What types of personal information is collected at MEGABrands.COM?

All of the Web sites operated by the MEGA Family may collect information from you - personal as well as non-personal - for internal use within the different businesses of the MEGA Family. Any information collected may be shared among companies that are part of the MEGA family.

For the passive display of our products and a description of their features, we do not request personal information of any kind. For interactive online activities, we may request the following information: a user's given name or pseudonym, age, gender and country of residence. If online communication from the company is requested, we will need your e-mail address. We do not request that a child submit information that would allow him or her to be identified offline.

In some instances, we may also need to disclose personal information about you to companies that we hire so that we may provide you with the best possible service - for example this might be a company that we have employed to fill product orders or coordinate mailings, contests or promotions or a reputable research company hired by us to conduct a survey of our consumers. Purchasing from MEGA

When you make a purchase from MEGA online, we will need to obtain personal information from you. We will need your real name and address (billing as well as shipping address) along with your credit card information or other payment method, in order to complete your transaction and ship your products.

If you are age 18 or over, you can choose to set up an online account with us to use for purchasing products from MEGA online, in which account we will keep all information relating to your purchases, even after your transaction is completed. This will make it even easier for you to shop with us again, because you don't need to submit such information each time. You can review and update your online account information at any time. If you decide to set up an account with us, we will ask you to create a username and password, which will ensure that you are the only one that can access your account. Setting up an account with us will also give you the opportunity to receive e-mail newsletters and other information. If you don't set up an account with us, we will keep your order history in an offline database. When you actually make a purchase, you will also have the opportunity to sign up and to receive additional information from the MEGA family. You will also have the opportunity to opt out of sharing your information with us.

What options do I have in response to a request for personal information?

You can supply the information or you can refuse to supply the information. You can also request the correction or deletion of personal information you have previously supplied to us by contacting us by regular mail to the attention of "Consumer Service" at 4505 Hickmore, Montreal (QC) Canada, H4T 1K4 or by visiting our consumer service center.

What is the policy for posting personal information on your web site?

At present, we do not post any such information. If we were to post personal information in the future, we would only do so upon obtaining verifiable parental consent, or the consent of a child's caregiver, by requesting that our “Parental Consent Form” be sent to our head office address. Is the personal information that parents consent to give on behalf of their children shared with or distributed to parties that are unrelated to the company?

No, although in an effort to continuously improve our products we may share anonymous compiled statistics about our online traffic with outside product developers and marketing
professionals. We do not sell, rent or exchange personal information, and if we ever considered changing that policy we would first seek parental consent in each instance. Any personal information that is provided to us remains securely in our database where it can be retrieved for the parent to review, correct or request deletion of at any time.

Is the submission of personal information ever needed as a condition for participating in an online activity, or to access part of the website?

Some of our activities, such as story or creation submissions, games, e-cards, newsletters, sweepstakes and contests may require the collection of personally identifiable information. The information collected from participants will also be considered confidential. To enable children under 13 years of age to participate in any such activity, a parent or guardian must print and fill out the Parental Consent Form and return it to us by postal mail or by fax. We do not condition participation in any activity upon disclosure of more information than is reasonably necessary to participate in such an activity. Do you collect ISP addresses?

Yes. When you access a page on our website, our servers log your Internet Service Provider (ISP) address for the purpose of analyzing trends, administering our websites, tracking traffic patterns and gathering demographic information for aggregate use. Our servers also record your type of browser (e.g. Netscape or Internet Explorer) and your operating system (e.g. Macintosh or Windows) No personally identifiable information, such as your name or your e-mail address is collected from children under 13 without parental consent. The MEGA Family may use IP addresses.

Do you use “cookies”?

Yes, in order to make your browsing easier. Cookies are used to remember your password (for sections that require a password) and to increase your security and that of your child. Cookies do not contain personal information about the individual who is browsing our site. We do not use any information generated by cookies to conduct direct marketing or promotion of any kind.
