Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor, the Product Technician is responsible for assisting the engineers and designers by producing and revising all 2D and 3D drawings. He or she must ensure the drawings are up to date and correspond with all moulded parts. The Product Technician also sees to all tests required to start production for Montreal projects and is responsible for developing functional prototypes.

Responsibilities:

· Produce 2D and 3D drawings using SolidWorks as per design and engineering specifications

· Assist with the final design of plastic parts

· Assist Engineering group with approvals of quotation drawings

· Assist the Engineering group by drafting, defining and finalizing the engineering specifications (EPS)

· Assist the Engineering group by controlling and approving final drawings and sculptures

·Support the Engineering group by providing recommendations and feedback on initial “first shots” and on approved final shots

· Attend to metrology activities for Montreal production projects

· Execute appropriate security and functionality tests for Montreal production projects

· Develop functional prototypes to validate technical aspects of products

· Assist Quality Engineering group, in peak periods, with the final verification of graphic materials and components.

Competencies we are looking for:

· 1-2 years of experience as an Engineering Technician

· DEC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

· Proficient in SolidWorks (2D & 3D)

· Strong ability to read and understand 2D drawings

· Proficient in the MS Office Suite (Excel and Word)

· Bilingual (French and English)

· Knowledge of plastic design, plastic materials and injection moulding (asset).

- Issue and maintain forecast and planning schedules for our suppliers, which aims to optimize delivery, capacity, leadtime and costs
- Work with Forecasting, Sales and Distribution teams to ensure continuity of supply, minimal transport costs and excess inventory
- Perform Distribution Requirements planning to ensure supply in appropriate Ditribution Centres
- Initiate and maintain Purchase Order requisitions and work closely with Procurement and China teams to ensure process is completed in a timely and effective manner
- Work with China in-site team to solve and short-term supply management issues
- Highlight issues, propose alternatives solutions and drive continuous process improvement.

Requirements:

- Bachelor degree in Commerce or Operations Management
- 1-2 years relevant experience
- Bilingual (spoken and written)
- Chinese (Mandarin) will be a strong asset
- Proficiency with SAP or JDEdwards will be an asset
- APICS certification will be an asset also
- Independence, energy, sense of organization and attention to details.

MUST HAVE:

Job Description:

MEGA Brands is looking for a Senior Engineer to join its engineering team. The Senior Engineer will be responsible for the integrity of new products in the concept development and technical development stages. He will be the technical liaison between Asia and Montreal in regards to: project management issues, design issues and product development issues. He will ensure technical follow-up in the conception of high precision molds, suggest and help to manage mold improvement recommendations, review and recommend part design improvements to enhance mold-ability.


Job Requirements:


- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field.
- Project management experience with strong leadership skills.
- 10+ years of experience in the engineering field.
- Knowledge of tooling, injection mold making and a working understanding of the materials and equipment used in these processes.
- Strong communication skills both oral and written in either French or English. Must also be fluent in Mandarin.
- Great knowledge and understanding of both North American and Chinese cultures.
- Available and flexible for travel. Job will require splitting time between Montreal and Asia.
- Knowledgeable in product costing.
- Knowledgeable of electrical designs and understanding of machine and tooling interfaces.
- Proficient with Word, Excel, SolidWorks (or ProE, Catia, Mechanical Desktop), AutoCAD.
- Detail oriented
- Strong innovation skills and good at resolving complex problems.
- Can manage multiple projects simultaneously, handle well pressure and respect deadlines.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Team player, organised and hands-on.
